What about Evolution? How can you really Believe in Creationism?
Genesis Chapters 1-2
In 1859, Charles Darwin published his theory of evolution with what many considered compelling evidence in a book entitled “On the Origin of Species”
It was not until the sometime between the 30’s and the 50’s that the scientific community came up with the modern evolutionary definition that has Darwin’s scientific discovery in its foundation. Darwin’s theory eliminated the need for a supernatural creator by demonstrating how naturalistic processes could account for the increasing complexity and diversity of living things…in other words…….. exclude any possibility that God created life.
What are the consequences of Evolution? Creation?
our lives have no overarching meaning, no preset divine plan, no script
the only meaning, purpose or value would be the ones we invent for ourselves
there is can be no right or wrong, or higher standard
desire becomes its own reason
Creation – if God is the Creator he must be
A great artist
Totally generous, since the all-sufficient, perfect Being couldn’t have created out of need
If we owe our very existence to God, then
we have no rights over against God
our existence is meaningful; deliberated created rather than blindly evolved
we own him everything; nothing is our own – no part of our time, or our money, or even our thoughts
What goes into Building a Living Organism?
Amino Acids –
80 types, but only 20 of them are found in living organisms; so you have to isolate only those 20
Then those 20 have to be linked together in the right sequence in order to produce protein molecules
This is chemical evolution – under evolution theory this happens unguided by any outside help….and there are a lot of other complicating factors:
Complicating factors to scientific attempts to build living cells
Other molecules tend to react more readily with amino acids than amino acid so you have to the problem of how to eliminate them to keep them from gumming up the works.
There are equal number of amino acids that are right- and left-handed; only left-handed ones work in living cells.
Now you have to select the right ones to link together in the right sequence
You need the correct kind of chemical bonds (peptide bonds) in the right places in order for the protein to be able to fold in a specific three-dimensional way…or it won’t function
– Now around 100 amino acids have to be assembled correctly to make 1 protein molecule.
– Now you have to bring together a collection of around 100 protein molecules with just the right functions to get 1 typical living cell
– But in order to get these moving parts to assembled you have to have a microprocessor –everything comes from DNA
Scientist have never been able to build the building blocks of DNA
Origin-of-life Scientist have come up empty when they’ve tried to theorize how chemicals could evolve into living matter.
They have come up just as empty when they’ve tried to theorize how one species could evolve into another species – i.e. Man from Ape
No matter how they twist or turn on this issue it comes down to this: In the Beginning God Created
“So you think the facts point convincingly toward a Creator?”
“Convincingly is too mild a term,” he replied. “The evidence is compelling. ‘Convincing’ suggests it’s a little more likely than not; ‘compelling’ says you have to really work hard not to get to that conclusion” – Walter L. Bradley, Ph.D, Distinguished Professor of Engineering, Baylor University

Did Jesus really become a man or was he half-man, half-God?
